The Fire Academy was developed as a distance education alternative to the traditional classroom. This presents present and future firefighters with an economical choice that was not open to them previously.

The Fire training that you receive will surpass the minimum qualification and training standards required by the State of Colorado Division of Fire Safety Firefighter One or Two certification.

Or

The Hazardous Materials training that you receive will surpass the minimum qualification and training standards required by the State of Colorado Division of Fire Safety Hazardous Materials Operation Level certification.

We currently do not offer any Emergency Medical Programs Online.  We will post listing of our In-House Training when available.

There are numerous resources available to assist you with your studies. These include libraries, online resources and  industry publications. The Online Resource page lists some that may be of interest.

Firefighting and Hazardous Materials Operations  require that you be prepared both mentally and physically for the challenges that you will face.

A physical ability test is required to be eligible for most firefighting positions. The physical ability test is a pass/fail exam. This test was designed to identify persons who can meet the physical demands of being a firefighter.

Students learn best in quite different ways. One of the advantages of the online format of the course is that it allows students to approach the course in ways that suit their personal styles and preferences. In classrooms, instructors are inclined to teach either as they themselves were taught, or as they think "the average student" prefers.

Online, all of the instructor-presented class material is laid out at once, and students can do with it whatever they prefer in order to learn in as personal and unique a fashion as possible.

This course by design specifically accommodates different learning styles by involving a variety of components, including text, a wealth of photos and drawings, video clips, self-check quizzes, written tests and reference lists and resources.
